this small group independent study, called "from where the wind is blowing": advanced poetry workshop, will center its study on experimental and conventional lyric poems, craft essays, and original participant work.
to receive an evaluation, participants will be required to submit five single annotations over the course of the term, submit a 12-page book arts chapbook (containing at least six revised poems), and a 4-5 pages that carefully tracks their growth and progress over the term, highlighting poem drafts/revisions that exemplify new strategies or techniques employed in their work. participants will also facilitate their own workshops and engage with course materials and lecture notes via brief reading responses.
